AT&T Mobility expands 3G phone coverage in PTC I

AT&T Mobility announced Monday the expansion of the third-generation (3G) broadband network in Peachtree City. With the addition of 3G technology to seven cell sites in the Peachtree City area, the company has further expanded its mobile broadband network, giving customers who live and travel through the main corridors of Atlanta south to Peachtree City more options in how, when and where they can access the Internet, use email or view a variety of entertainment services. The enhanced cell sites are part of AT&T Mobility’s ongoing expansion of its 3G network, the nation’s fastest 3G network, according to recent data compiled by leading independent wireless research firms. The company’s 3G network increased an additional 55 square miles with these enhancements. As a result, 3G wireless coverage has expanded from metro Atlanta down to Peachtree City, providing connecting coverage northeast to Ga. Highway 54; to Fayetteville; and north to Tyrone. In June, the company increased its metro Atlanta 3G wireless network by approximately 140 square miles, expanding its wireless broadband service south into Peachtree City; to Palmetto; along I-75 near Newnan; and east along Ga.
