Overview
EDI (Electrodeionization), also known as electric desalination, is a new technology of making pure water and or making ultrapure water. It is a revolutionary progress of pure water production. The technology combined uses electrodialysis and ion exchange technology. It does not need acid or alkali chemical regeneration and can continuously producing ultrapure water. It is getting increasingly extensive application in electronics, electricity, medicine, chemical industry and laboratory areas.
Working Principle
The technology is using electrodialysis and ion exchange technology. By using the anion and cation pass selection of the ion exchange membrane, and using ion exchange of ion exchange resin, under the action of dc field, the equipment can achieve the directional ions migration, thus complete the water desalination deeply. At the same time, water electricity dissociation produce hydrogen ions and hydroxyl ions which then make resin regeneration in the ion exchange. So it does not need any acid or alkali chemical regeneration and can continuously produce ultrapure water.
